RBS_S4* (Thiel et al.)

RBS are translational elements necessary for ribosomes to be able to bind and start the translation of gene of interest. The sequence is from Synechocystis sp PCC6803 genes coding for fotosynthesis, which is highly expressed there, ensuring that this RBS is effective.

The sequence consists of a variable region 5' – RBS S4- ATACATAAGGAATTATAACCAAATGGG - 3' preceded by a 27 bp invariable upstream insulator sequence 5’ – TAATAGAAATAATTTTGTTTAACTTTA – 3’. The sequence contains the starting codon ATG.
